A prophet once heard the winds bemoan
The tale of a strange isle, in waters unknown
In the island flows a mystic stream
That one often sees in a fairy tale, or in a dream

And in the wilderness enshrouding the brook,
Whose rendition you will never find in a book
There lies a cottage, small
In the place, where at night the Banshees call.

Within the silent retreat, where no visitor comes
Where even ancient melancholy numbs
A youth with lifeless eyes lives alone,
As all his hopes have 'long ago' flown
And mingled with the wailing wind
That blows for both the upright,
And for those who have sinned.

Every morn, when the fairies still dance
A sight that can put any man in a trance
The youth with lifeless eyes, visits the stream
That emits an azure, uncanny gleam
And drinks its water, as the fairies watch with awe
The human that seems to have digressed from all nature's law.
He has lived here even before the fairy grandmother was born
And she is more than a thousand years old,
Is what, some could have sworn.

No one knows from whence he came
Or have an inkling about his name
But the fairy elders forbid them from going near the 'strange man'
For who knows; in the end, what is his plan?

However some young mischievous fairies,
That sometimes even venture out in the haunted prairies,
Follow him back to his lodge
And peek at 'the senior that looks too young',
Through the broken windows, that they often have to dodge
When 'Senior Youth' looks that way.

However what they find to be strange,
Is the fact when the man sits besides a blade,
Some lustre return to his hesitant eyes
But little will they ever know
The curse of a man, who never dies.
